The design proposal concerns a residential building in the suburb of Agyia, northeast of Patras.
The synthetic idea was based on the continuous abstract molding process performed on a monolithic-rectangular volume, which was the beginning of the synthesis. In the first step of the abstractive procedure, a part of the solid original rectangular parallelepiped was removed and as a result the L-shaped spatial condition was created in plan view.
In the second step of the process, individual rectangular pieces were removed from the facades, resulting in the creation of semi-outdoor spaces that morphologically characterize the building. The detachment points of the individual sections are emphasized by the materiality of the wood used in them. The condition of these semi-outdoors in combination with the altitude difference of the two individual prisms that compose the building, create the reflection of the L-shape of the floor plan on the facades of the building.
