Casa V

Casa V is a single-storey house on the riverbank of Haradros, in the suburb Kastelokampos, near Patras . The special shape of the plot and the orientation were the elements that dominated the synthetic process, the morphology and the location of the building on the plot.

As a result, Casa V consists of two linear volumes that intersect at an angle of 80 degrees.

The volumes are functionally distinguished, as one concerns the daytime areas, while the second the overnight areas. Their geometric point of intersection spatially refers to the point of entrance, the area that functions as a threshold for entering the main areas of the residence. This space is distinguished both functionally and morphologically from the rest of the building and is given intensity through the stone on the façade that contrasts with the purity of the white thermal facade that covers the rest of the  building.

The residence faces southwest, in order to take advantage of the optimal orientation of the plot.This is achieved through the wide openings on those sides.

The residence is characterized by geometric clarity and morphological austerity.
